Painting The Great Sonoran Desert
What lies over the hill? Around the bend? Down that wash? It’s always the adventure of exploration and discovery that endures for me. And so the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona. Three times I came. After the fourth time, I packed up a moving truck, bound for the unknown. The adventure just begun. Follow along and explore it with me as I experience and capture my view of Saguaro, Prickly Pear, Agave and land, lots of land. Don’t fence me in.
It all begins with a bike ride, an off road exploration, a camping trip. First I experience, then I capture with camera. Then in the studio, I edit and compose until finally a drawing emerges. From there a new adventure unfolds on canvas in oil.
